News from Parndon Mill

Our next exhibition will be a good one.

The two artists concerned, Liz Boast and Kirsten Wilson, both have studios here and exhibited in The Gallery together about three years ago.

Visitors actually laughed out loud at some of the humour expressed in their pictures!

The title of this one is “Goodness!” and they use the word in all its connotations from angelic and heroic to shocking and possibly even stomach churning.

The exhibition will include prints, paintings, sculpture and an ALPHABET of GOODNESS...

Gigabit Broadband voucher scheme

Full fibre broadband connections offer the fastest and most reliable speeds available, and the government is committed to a vision of a full fibre Britain.

As part of this commitment in March 2018 the government announced the £67m Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.

Gigabit vouchers can be used by small businesses and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit capable connection.

Businesses can claim up to £3,000 against the cost of connection either individually or as part of a group project.

Residents can benefit from the scheme as part of a group project which also includes businesses, and can claim for a voucher of up to a value of £500.

Message from St Clare Hospice

As Tolstoy once wrote: “Spring is the time of plans and projects.” As we approach the end of the financial year and look to welcome wonderful Spring, we are doing a big push to raise as much as possible for our much loved St Clare Hospice.

 

We would love to have Harlow & District Chamber of Commerce members pushing with us between now and the beginning of April. Please see below for some possible ways..

  • Spring time email footerYou can make any donation the company can manage for our new email footer. Any “leftover money” in the budget at the end of the financial year? You can claim tax relief if you donate this to charity. To give you an idea of what things cost at St Clare, please see this
  • £50 Challenge. The aim is to grow £50 into as much profit as possible for St Clare. From coffee mornings to cake sales, every little helps as long as it is a return on the £50! St Clare would be delighted to give you the seed funding if required.
  • Any other ideas. We would love to hear from you if you have any other ideas.

 

All businesses that take part in the “fling” in whatever way will be mentioned on our social media platform, which has over 10,000 followers.

 

If you donate or raise at least £250, you automatically become part of St Clare’s Business Club and receive a “supporter of St Clare Hospice” logo for your promotional materials and your business name on our website, which has 23,000 visitors per month.
