"New to Business" workshop

Thanks to everyone who gave their time last night at the "New to Business" workshop.

Thanks, too, to Harlow College for hosting it.

A number of new businesses and people thinking of starting one were given loads of useful advice.

Sue Young and Vance Rowe did a great job of introducing the event - you can see them in action here

Meeting members

I'd like to meet as many members as possible in the New Year.

If anyone can spare me half an hour, please let me know.

December Events

Tomorrow (Thursday) from 4pm in conjunction with the West Essex Enterprise Group we are running a New to Business Workshop at Harlow College.

A number of local experts will be on hand to offer free 1-1 advice to new businesses and people thinking of starting one.

This may not be of direct relevance to you but please tell anyone who might benefit.  People can book online or just turn up.

I'm pleased to report that the new Chief Exec of St Clare Hospice will be at our Christmas lunch at the Manor of Groves on December 14th - why not come along and meet her and your Chamber committee.

Bookings are already coming in for our 2012 meetings

  • Delivering Quality Customer Service on Jan 17th at the Health Resource Centre (4.30pm)
  • What's new in Harlow at the Civic Centre on  Feb 15th (8.30am)

As previously advised we will alternate between Tues, Wed & Thursday in 2012

Go on - make their day

On Saturday December 17th Daniel Robinson in conjunction with St Clare Hospice & The Childrens' Ward at Princess Alexandra Hospital are planning a special day for some kids in the town.

All have had a tough year either through illness or bereavement and the plan is to make them all feel special for the day.  They will be collected in suitably decorated limousines and taken to Latton Bush Centre where they will be met by Heart Radio and given Goodie bags.  At 1pm they will be given a police escort from Latton Bush to St Paul's Church for lunch.

Rob Halfon was going to lead a conga to the Playhouse where they will watch the Pantomime and then meet the cast.

Unfortunately he cannot now make it.  Does anyone know of someone local who would be known to the kids?

You can help by turning out along the route of the convoy and cheering them as they pass.
